About

Theresa Street is a 501c3 non-profit dedicated to raising money, awareness, and mutual aid for organizations doing meaningful and measurable work in Southcoast, Massachusetts. We build relationships with and learn from these organizations, who we call “Community Partners”, and work tirelessly to support their missions. We also help businesses and individuals give their time and money to causes that are important to them.

Theresa Street fundraises primarily through fun and competitive events. These events are designed to raise money and awareness for our Community Partners while bringing our community together.

We are currently working in Dartmouth and New Bedford, but are interested in all opportunities to effect change across the Southcoast community.

History

Theresa Street was founded in 2020, but our story begins in 2008 when we hosted our first wiffle ball tournament, dubbed “The Summer Classic”. Back then we were just a few bored kids in a backyard but over the past 14 years “The Classic” has evolved into a community-wide event bringing together hundreds of players, supporters, and friends every summer.

In 2018, we launched the “Classic Cause”, a fundraiser that coincided with the tournament where we raised money for a non-profit doing meaningful work in our community. From 2018-2020, we raised $10,600 dollars for local non-profits including the Dartmouth High Special Olympics and NorthStar Learning Center in New Bedford. The success of these fundraisers inspired us to found Theresa Street in 2020.

Funds Raised

Since our first fundraiser in 2018, we raised over $226,000 for community partners in the Southcoast. Our goal is to raise $1,000,000 by 2030.
